Two public talks will tell a shared story about Ice, from a global societal perspective on the one hand, and a fundamental neutron perspective on the other :

The IGE has a long tradition of experimental climate research, combining field observations, ice-core drilling and laboratory analysis to reconstruct past climates and understand ongoing change. This heritage goes back to pioneers such as Claude Lorius, whose Antarctic ice-core research revealed the close relationship between greenhouse gases and climate, a scientific legacy that continues today at the IGE.
The IGE brings together scientists working across Earth, environmental and climate sciences. Its research explores the interactions between the Earth’s environment, climate and societies, with a particular focus on mountain and polar regions.
