The Les Deux Alpes resort boasts Europe’s largest skiable glacier: the Mont-de-Lans glacier. Covering an area of 100 hectares and situated between 2,900 and 3,568 meters, it offers hiking accessible to everyone, thanks to its gentle gradient and terrain with very few crevasses.

We reach the Les Deux Alpes glacier in 17 minutes via the Jandri gondola. Consisting of two sections, the Jandri transports you first to an altitude of 3,200 meters. From there, we will take the funicular up to 3,400 meters to enjoy the unique « Destination 3400 » experience, a walkway extending out over the void, offering a 360° view of the Écrins massif.

Visit of the Grotte de Glace des 2 Alpes:

At an altitude of 3,400 meters, at the top of the funicular, the Les 2 Alpes ice cave—crafted by high-mountain guides Bernard Lambolez and Bruno Gardent—invites you to discover a wondrous world of sculptures beneath 30 meters of ancient ice.

It is an opportunity to appreciate Europe’s changing glacial landscapes.

Founded in 1899, it brings together nearly 2,000 species of mountain plants from around the world, offering visitors a unique journey through alpine biodiversity.
Beyond its botanical collections, the Jardin du Lautaret is an open-air laboratory where researchers from different disciplines study mountain ecosystems and their responses to environmental change.
Climate change is an important part of this research: mountain ecosystems are particularly sensitive to warming, and the Jardin du Lautaret provides a natural setting for observing how plants and ecosystems respond to these changes.
